O Praise The Son

 Verse 1
Who can stand before such a holy God?
In the threadbare clothes of our own design
All our finest deeds naught but filthy rags
Every striving stained by sin
O praise the Son who has borne our shame
Wore a purple robe and a twisted crown
In the whitest linen now we're found
Covered in His righteousness

Verse 2
From our Father's riches we ran away
Fallen hearts enthralled by the world’s allure
Held to ransom by every vain desire
With our souls enslaved to sin
O praise the Son, precious Lamb of God
Who receives us home with his outstretched arms
Now from sin set free, to Him redeemed
Sons and daughters bought by blood

Verse 3
Though our feeble frames fail and waste away
Know that day by day we are being renewed
Every grief and pain light and momentary
With eternity in view
Oh praise the Son who has overcome
The despair of death no longer reigns
Come and lift your gaze to see that day
When He makes all things anew
